BIOGRAPHY

 Her roots

Sabine Nielsen is a Franco-Danish painter born in Wimbledon (London, England) on 12 October 1975.

Her French mother gave her a positive outlook and infectious joie de vivre. As well as her taste for art, cultivated in her mother's framing shop where she grew up. Amongst contemporary and figurative works. From her Danish father, she inherited her passion for nature, which she developed by playing every summer in the natural surroundings of the family home.

She also inherited his creativity, which made him a successful entrepreneur.

The apprenticeship

It was at the age of 7 that, encouraged by the confidence of her parents, Sabine began painting at the Truffino studio. There she learned not only the techniques of oil painting and the rigour of figurative art, but also the law of effort. The resilience to start again and again until she achieved the perfection she was aiming for.

In secondary school, Sabine joined the art section of the Val Notre Dame boarding school. She did a first year of graphic design at Studio 75 before going on to the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, where she developed her creative spirit. She completed her artistic training at the Institut Supérieur de Peinture Vanderkelen-Logelain, where she learned the subtleties of ornamental painting, faux marble and faux wood.

The artist

Sabine is a seasoned artist who has armed herself with a wide range of techniques that she uses to achieve her personal mission: "to offer art that generates positive emotions through unique colour combinations in movement". She is and has been represented in various galleries in Belgium and abroad: Ferrari Art Gallery, Deï Barri Gallery, the Art Temptation Gallery, the HIP Gallery, Art Center Horus Gallery in Sint- Martens- Horus Gallery Latem and Horus Gallery Knokke, and Horus Gallery in Laren ( PB) Sablon d'art, Galerie L or Galerie MOdus, and Alexia Werrie Art Gallery As well as in private collections and companies such as UCB, Bureau Van Dijk or DEGROOF Petercam Bank.

In line with her desire to add colour to people's lives, Sabine regularly supports associations by offering them works to be auctioned, for example - Reine de la Vie - FACE for children in need - Villa Indigo - L'Accueil-...

Sabine pays a great deal of attention to the quality of the materials she uses, from the choice of canvas to the paints she uses. The aim is not only to offer the best renderings but also to guarantee the longevity of the work. Finally, Sabine also takes great pleasure in producing bespoke commissions. It's an opportunity to work with different people, to share emotions.

Her career

Sabine often impresses visitors to her studio with the diversity of her work. It all began when she was very young, learning the techniques of oil painting by creating landscapes, figures and birds in the old-fashioned way.

Sabine's first solo exhibition dates back to 2000, when she presented a collection of "Polo Players" at the Antwerp Polo Club in Kapellen. She used the techniques she had learnt during her academic career to combine the sportsman and his horse, in movement, in a gentle blend of colours. Her second collection, Cercles, produced in 2002, is more personal and tends towards abstract art. It sets in motion round lines in warm colours, inspired by a lunar imagination.

In 2005, Sabine surprised everyone with her Goutte-à-Goutte collection, which contributed to her reputation. She creates screens of light that illuminate the mind and burst with positive vibrations as the viewer passes by. Her most surprising works are the radiators she uses as easels on which she superimposes thousands of drops of colour intermingled over the years.

Inspired by the Drops that run down the canvas to crash to the ground, Sabine worked with spots from 2009 to 2015. This is her Spotty period. She sets colours in motion in different ways. Generally on white backgrounds worked in plaster to give body to her canvas and to catch the light.

In Spotty Full, the painting fills up more and more, leaving no room for the blank canvas. The subject is very present, and is already showing some plant inspiration; Her work evolves towards explosions of colour, welcoming and radiant, spreading energy and rays of light: Spotty Fuse. She uses the Pollock technique to generate this fusion of colours; Always inspired by colour and drawing ever closer to nature, Sabine paints the incredible movement of starlings, known as murmuration, in the form of thousands of tiny dots of colour. She calls this collection Spotty Light.

In 2019, Sabine is paying tribute to the magnificent nature that has inspired her since she was a little girl in her So Beautiful Nature collection. She highlights nature, bringing it to life with bright colours and then immortalising it in photographs...

In 2020, Sabine suddenly lost her beloved father. She wanted to pay tribute to her parents by producing a collection she called Gratitude. She translates the softness of these emotions through pastels, inspired by Asian techniques. Following on from her work on So Beautiful Nature, Sabine brought materials back to the centre of her work in 2024 with her Totem collection. These painted bark 'sculptures' protect a community, a family or an individual.
